Who I Am & What I Do

About AppliedTinkering

My name is Raymond Harp, and I build things—software, machines, and the occasional go-kart.

Welcome to AppliedTinkering, a central hub for my professional work, projects, and notes. I value practical work, straightforward communication, and quality over flash. This site isn't a highly polished startup page; it is a genuine look at the problems I am solving and the things I am building.

After a career in military communications supporting the U.S. Department of Defense and Special Operations, I founded AppliedTinkering to focus on what I love most: solving real problems with practical tools. My military background gave me discipline, adaptability, and the ability to lead teams under pressure. I bring that same mindset to every line of code and every project in the shop.

Today, I develop AI-powered applications like RoleFit and RoleSync, work on mechanical builds—like a custom go-kart powered by a 750cc Kawasaki engine—and I am pursuing a degree in Engineering-Physics.

Father of three. Lifelong builder. Always learning.

Thank you for visiting.
